The type and styling of this multi-coloured typographic signage is a subtle nod to some of the lettering found on various train carriages within the museums collection.
Each piece was hand painted in six colours along with a white outline. Building A also features a block and cast effect, with a subtle grey shadow emanating from the lettering.
In terms of viewpoint and line-of-sight, scale and placement were a key factor in this project, as each building had it’s own physical obstacles and quirks. The pieces also act as wayfinding signs, guiding visitors to entrances within the large site.
